ISAAC (Integrating Simulation and Analysis for Architectural Complexity)
建築的目的,在於場所的創造,高品質的空間,有賴於設計者掌握設計實踐之真實效果。
從「場域經驗浸潤」切入,以光熱環境、耗能、空間型構、場所特徵、永續建築設計等知識發掘及應用為重點 ,本 研究室致力於建立「設計概念發展」(concept development) 與「實際場域創造」(place making in reality),兩者之間的有效連結。操作上,以「空間場域調查解析」、「物環實驗與實作」及「建築效能模擬」為三大研究主軸,根據研究生專長性向,擇一探索,深化建築繁系統實務運用之知識。
Architecture is to make place. A place is space that instigates human emotion and sensations. High quality spaces can only be achieved when the designer is conscious of the actual environmental effects driven by the design proposal.
ISAAC lab endeavors to improve the link between “architectural concept development” and “place making in reality”. Strongly tied with “real world leaning” paradigm, we seek to expand the knowledge base in luminous and thermal environment, building energy conservation, spatial network, place characterization, and sustainable design. Three key research approaches are “spatial study”, “physical experiment and design/built practice” and “building performance simulations”. While exposed to all facets of research in lab’s everyday practice, graduate students usually choose one approach and address one specific theme for their in-depth thesis studies.
