Research & Teaching Interests

Chiou’s research approach is multi-disciplinary in nature. His specific research interests lie in the application of social network -complex system theory and industrial ecology to study the dynamics of human and built environment and technology of various scales (individual space, building, community and city) and contexts. The objective of the researches is to enrich the knowledge base of human centered / high performance/ sustainable design. Chiou welcomes the opportunities to teach courses and design studio with human /building performance/ sustainability focus.
